Wheatsheaf Group invests in non-chemical food safety in non-chemical food safety

The technology and assets of Ozone International, a non-chemical food safety company based on ozone technology, have been acquired by recently established TriStrata Group a 100% subsidiary of Wheatsheaf Group.

By way of the acquisition, TriStrata Group will broaden its scope of responsible food quality and food safety technologies.

Ozone International provides food safety applications to North American customers by using ambient air and a small amount of electricity to generate ozone, ultimately disinfecting food and food processing facilities without the use of chemicals. The company has more than 500 users of its products, including many leading protein, produce and prepared foods companies, to enhance the quality and safety of their food.

“Ozone International was founded to provide effective, non-chemical food safety technologies, and our mission will continue,” said Jon Brandt, founder of Ozone International. “Through the acquisition by Tristrata Group we can meet the anticipated growth in demand and need for our services in the global market.”

TriStrata Group will be led by James Young, a former senior executive with Tyson Foods. Anthony James, COO of Wheatsheaf said “James brings a wealth of management, operational and relevant industry experience to TriStrata Group that will enable the new business to help the food industry to deliver safe, clean food. We are committed to helping James, Jon and TriStrata Group succeed”

TriStrata Group will retain all of Ozone International’s employees, will continue to invest in key personnel, develop innovative technology and improve its core business segments. The transaction will help Tristrata Group meet the growing global demand for safer, cleaner food.

James Young said, “There is strong demand in the food industry for superior solutions to deliver safe food. TriStrata Group, with Wheatsheaf’s support, is positioned to deliver these solutions. I am excited to lead TriStrata Group into this exciting phase.”
