Value for natural capital
We believe that natural capital, such as clean water and clean air, will increasingly be given a financial value.
This will inevitably lead to greater restrictions and charges on water consumption or pollution – for example phosphate leaching, greenhouse gas emissions and soil degradation. All of these examples and many more besides will impact the price of food, water and energy.
There will therefore be increased interest in commercial opportunities for technologies that ‘close loops’ in industrial and agricultural processes – to recover, recycle and reuse resources from waste, to mitigate environmental damage and to generate cost savings.
