Improving nutrient cycles

The scarcity of our natural resources – in particular land, water and nutrients – necessitates that we must produce more with fewer inputs in order to be sustainable.

Improving nutrient cycles reflects our intention to invest in solutions to improve the nutrient uptake into plants and animals, and also the integrated use and potential re-use of nutrients in agriculture and food production systems.

Innovation in plant breeding, soil science, efficient irrigation, fertiliser science and diagnostics can be applied to meet these challenges.
